Super Healthy Super Bowl Recipes

The Big Game is upon us, and my team isn’t playing (Go Colts….next year!) so I will be able to truly focus on cooking this year!  I’m here to share one of my favorite healthy Super Bowl go-to’s that is quick and easy and good for you. I have asked a few other foodie bloggers to contribute as well!

Ground Turkey Casserole

Our family loves this one!

You will need:

  • 1 pound of lean ground turkey
  • 1 (15 ounce) can of tomato sauce (I like Hunt’s)
  • 1 teaspoon of white sugar (I use one packet of Stevia in the Raw)
  • 1 (8 ounce) container of sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese
  • 1 (12 ounce) package of uncooked egg noodles
  • 2 cups of reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Over medium heat, saute the ground turkey in a large skillet for 5 – 10 minutes, or until browned. Drain, stir in the tomato sauce and sugar and set aside.

In a medium sized bowl, combine the sour creme and cream cheese. Mix it well until smooth and then set aside.

Cook the noodles according to the package instructions.  Once they are cooked, place them in a 9×13 inch baking dish and then layer the turkey mixture over the noodles.  Then add a layer of the sour cream/cream cheese mixture and then top with cheese.

Bake at 35o degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.  Serve and enjoy!

Make this recipe even healthier with organic sour cream, cream cheese and shredded cheese.
